Our History
In 1886, Charles Buls, the Mayor of Brussels, gathered the city’s major business leaders together to ask them for help in promoting the city and its cultural events. The outcome of that meeting was an organisation called ‘Bruxelles-Attraction’. In 1958, the name was changed to ‘Syndicat d’Initiative de la ville de Bruxelles’.
For more than 130 years, the leaders of this association have been organizing events for the enjoyment and edification of a vast collective of men and women whose expectations have continued to grow and evolve.
